Belgian Warmblood Breeding Association: North American District

A Certificate of Pedigree may be issued by the BWP/NAD to foals providing one parent is approved for breeding by the BWP. Certificate of Pedigree horses are not eligible to participate in the breeding program, with the exception of fillies, which may be presented as three year olds for possible inclusion into the auxiliary studbook. To obtain a certificate of pedigree the owner of the foal must supply the secretary of BWP/NAD with:

  1. photographs of all four sides of the foal
  2. a completed registration form (the same form used for keuring registration)
  3. a copy of the sire’s and dam’s registration papers
  4. a breeding certificate from the sire’s owner and
  5. the appropriate fees
  6. DNA verification.

THIS DOES NOT MAKE FILLIES ELIGIBLE FOR MAIN STUD BOOK PAPERS AS A THREE YEAR OLD.
