BWP/NAD has been very busy the past few months with the Keuring Tour and of course the World Equestrian Games. The 2010 Keuring Tour was wonderful again this year, and many terrific horses were inspected. Please see below for the full wrap up. At the World Equestrian Games the BWP had a lovely booth which highlighted the successes of the breed. BWP horses confirmed these successes by shining on the international stage during the Games. Read below for a summary on the Games. |
|
The World Equestrian Games was a big feather in the cap for the BWP as BWP Approved Stallion, "Vigo d'Arsouilles" (Nabab de Reve x Fleuri Du Manoir) and Philippe LeJuene were the Champions! The BWP horses had a stellar force with 23 Belgian Bred Competitors competing at the WEG including several NAD Stallions including Vancouver d'Auvray, Amaretto D'Arco, VDL Bubalu and Peterbilt. Mclain Ward rode BWP Superstar Sapphire, owned by Ward and Blue Chip Bloodstock, to double clear rounds the final night to move-up from 23rd to finish 7th. Further, the BWP registry showed its versatility by having horses with successful performances in Dressage and Eventing.
We would like to send out a big THANK YOU to those that helped with the BWP Booth at WEG including Lisa Lourie, David Mansfield, Linda Bobrik, Peg Whitfield, Tom Hansen, Jeff Rawley, Heather Farmer, and Nancy Maloney for donating a free breeding to Ironman to raise funds!!! A tremendous thank you for your time and work for the Registry! |

Fourth year in a row, leader of the world rankings Never before seen, for the fourth consecutive year the BWP-stallion Darco is leader of the world stallion rankings. Darco is the stallion whose offspring are the most international performing horses. |

The 2010 Keuring Tour was a great success this year! The tour traveled to 23 keuring sites across the U.S. We want to thank our Belgian judge, Boudewijn Schepers, and BWP President, Carl Rijcken, who joined the end of the tour for his first BWP/NAD visit! We would also like to thank our gracious hosts for their great hospitality, wonderful food and entertainment! It takes a lot of time and preparation to host a keuring site and it is very much appreciated by the BWP Registry!!!

The Foal Futurity was a success in its inaugural year with close to $5,000 that was distributed to the top 10 foal owners and stallion owners of BWP/NAD Stallion Service Auction participants. The payout was $448.00 per placing that was split between the foal owner (breeder) and stallion owner. Congratulations to all participants!
