New North American Breeding Futurity Program
|
The
Belgian Warmblood Breeding Association/North American District is excited to
announce the introduction of a
new North American Breeding Futurity. In an effort to encourage mare
owners and breeders to support and promote our North American born and bred horses, the futurity is
designed to specifically reward North American breeding programs. Stallion
nominations are from those stallion owners who donate a breeding to their
stallion to the BWP/NAD's stallion service auction. The stallion
service auction is the backbone to the
Belgian Warmblood Breeding Association's financial bottom line and we are always grateful to
participating stallion owners for their generosity. We believe that the
futurity will encourage mare owners and breeders to take another look at the
phenomenal line up of stallions available with the BWP/NAD and to encourage them
to present their offspring to a registry that is progressive, acknowledges
breeders and producsts some of
the top performance horses in the world!
The way
the futurity works is that a stallion owner can nominate their stallion by
simply donating a breeding to the Stallion Service Auction. If they choose
not to donate a breeding, they can nominate the stallion by paying a $250
nomination fee. All offspring by that
stallion born the following year will then be eligible for the futurity.
Mare owners/breeders /foal owners can
then nominate the foal for the futurity prior to being inspected for
a nomination fee of $35.
Foals will then also be judged at the time of inspection . At the end of the year , after all horses have been
inspected and the scores compared, the top 10 placing foals will be
announced. The stallion and foal owners will receive a portion of the
payout from the futurity. As foals will already be prepped and at the
inspection for registration, there is no additional expense to owners to have to
travel to shows, pay stall fees, etc. and
the results will be for nationally participating
animals!
The BWP/NAD
is thrilled to have the opportunity to implement a program that rewards breeders
for supporting domestic stallions as well as supporting a registry that is known for
producing International and Olympic winners!
